Is Ticket Protector Plus by Access America a legitimate type of travel insurance? Should I buy it for $20.43?
I am buying plane tickets to costa rica and nicaragua through cheaptickets.com. When entering my information, I am given the option to add Ticket Protector Plus through Access America for an additional $20.43. It looks like some sort of insurance program. Does anyone know anything about this service?
I can’t tell if this is an alternative to other travel health insurance that would normally cost $100 to $200.

It’s an alternative to other travel insurance however it is much more limited than the other travel insurance that you can purchase for a higher premium.
It does not contain any baggage coverage and the travel medical coverage is limited to $10,000 with a $50. deductible. It also contains trip cancellation/interruption coverage up to the amount of your trip cost (max $3,000) however, the coverage has only a few covered reasons.
The policy does not cover any pre-existing medical conditions.
